PRESS RELEASE: Defense of Freedom Institute Applauds President Trump’s Executive Order on Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling
WASHINGTON—Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) President and Co-Founder Bob Eitel released the following statement on President Trump’s “Executive Order on Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schools”:
President Trump’s Executive Order is a critical step toward restoring academic integrity, parental rights, and equal opportunity in education for all Americans. For years, progressive activists have used classrooms to elbow out parents and indoctrinate students into radical beliefs about race and sex. These beliefs reject the idea of a colorblind society and the principle of nondiscrimination that underpin our nation’s civil rights laws. These activists push ideas about human sexuality that defy biology and gut equal opportunities in education for women and girls. Academics have become an afterthought in too many schools.
No more.
This Executive Order rightly directs federal agencies to enforce existing civil rights and student privacy laws to ensure that public schools educate, not indoctrinate. We fully support the administration’s efforts to refocus America’s schools on academics and learning. This is what parents and teachers want and students need.
DFI has long advocated for stronger enforcement of civil rights and student privacy laws to ensure a sound learning environment in America’s classrooms. DFI will continue to push for policies that favor students, parents, classroom teachers, and academic excellence over politics.
