PRESS RELEASE: DFI Celebrates the Senate’s Passage of a Scholarship Tax Credit

WASHINGTON—Upon the Senate’s passage of a scholarship tax credit, the Defense of Freedom Institute’s Co-Founders Bob Eitel and Jim Blew released the following statement:

“DFI celebrates the Senate passing a K-12 scholarship tax credit as a big, beautiful step forward for families and teachers across the country. This school choice program will allow students to find a better school, without growing the government an inch. The House is expected to concur. We encourage state leaders to opt in to this transformational program, and we stand with parents pursuing good options for their children. 

DFI extends its deepest thanks to Senators Cruz, Cassidy, and Scott, as well as Speaker Johnson and Representatives Adrian Smith and Jason Smith, for championing the scholarship tax credit and accommodating the narrow demands of the Senate Parliamentarian. We especially thank President Trump for his enthusiastic endorsement of the tax credit. Today’s vote, and the President’s signature, will open up new worlds of opportunity for future generations of Americans.”
