PRESS RELEASE: DFI Statement on House Education Committee Vote to Overturn President Biden’s Student Loan Debt Bailout
WASHINGTON–Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) President and Co-founder Bob Eitel released the following statement after the House Education and Workforce Committee approved H.J. Res. 45, a Congressional Review Act Resolution seeking to overturn President Biden’s student loan bailout and student loan payment pause:
DFI applauds the committee’s action today on H.J. Res. 45. President Biden’s scheme to write off hundreds of billions of dollars in loans owed to the American people is illegal, unfair, and a slap in the face to hardworking taxpayers across the country, as well as to those student loan borrowers who have paid their debts.
We thank the Committee chair, Dr. Virginia Foxx, and the resolution’s sponsor, U.S. Rep. Bob Good, for their leadership on an issue of critical importance to the nation’s future. We hope that the full House and the Senate will soon follow suit.
