PRESS RELEASE: DFI Statement on House Vote to Nullify Biden’s Student Loan Bailout and Payment Pause
WASHINGTON—The Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) released the following statement from Robert S. Eitel, President and Co-founder, after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.J. Res. 45, which would nullify the Biden administration’s student debt forgiveness program and student loan payment pause:
“DFI commends the vote in the House of Representatives to overturn President Biden’s illegal, unfair, and disastrously expensive student loan bailout and payment pause schemes. The Constitution assigns spending power to Congress, not the Executive Branch, and today, the House took a step forward to restore constitutional order, fiscal sanity, and fairness for those who have dutifully paid their student loans or never taken them in the first place. We extend our appreciation especially to Rep. Bob Good, who sponsored this resolution, and Dr. Virginia Foxx, Chairwoman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.”
