PRESS RELEASE: DFI Statement on Senate Vote to End Biden’s Student Loan Bailout

WASHINGTON—The Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) released the following statement from Bob Eitel, President and Co-Founder, after the U.S. Senate passed a Congressional Review Act resolution to end the Biden administration’s student debt forgiveness program and student loan payment pause: 

“DFI commends the Senate for its action today to overturn President Biden’s illegal and inflationary student loan cancellation scheme. His ill-conceived plan does nothing to tackle the real problem—the rising cost of college—and forces hard working taxpayers, many of whom never went to college, to foot the bill for loans they never took out. We want to extend our deep appreciation to Ranking Member Bill Cassidy of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, as well as the CRA resolution sponsors Senators John Cornyn and Joni Ernst and their cosponsors, for their work to protect taxpayers and stop this illegal, unfair, and outrageously expensive program.”
