PRESS RELEASE: DFI Releases Statement on House Vote to Stop Biden’s Backdoor Student Loan Forgiveness Scheme

WASHINGTON—Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) President and Co-Founder Bob Eitel released the following statement after the House approved a Congressional Review Act resolution disapproving President Biden’s income-drive repayment regulations: 

“President Biden has no authority to use Income-Driven Repayment as a back door to enact mass loan forgiveness. American taxpayers, especially those who never went to college or paid off their loans, should not be on the hook for another $559 billion in student debt. Today’s Congressional Review Act vote is a necessary step to stop Biden’s illegal and exorbitant plan. We commend the leaders in Washington who are working to protect Americans from the most expensive rule in our nation’s history and protect future generations from further inflation of college costs.”
