DFI Releases Statement on President Biden’s Illegal Loan Forgiveness Plan
Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI) President Robert S. Eitel released the following statement on President Biden’s announcement to cancel student loan debt and extend the federal student loan payment moratorium:
“By forgiving student loans for borrowers with six-figure incomes and extending the student loan payment moratorium, President Biden has chosen to buy votes rather than fix a broken student loan program. His decision to write off hundreds of billions in loans owed to the American people is illegal, unfair, and a slap in the face to hardworking taxpayers across the country, most of whom never attended college and all of whom will now face a higher cost of living because of the President’s lawless action. Instead of fixing the problem of skyrocketing tuition and student debt, today’s action makes it worse.”
